Learning by Attending Conferences
Model UN Conferences are where students dive into the roles of country delegates and deliberate current global issues. Students may attend two anchor conferences hosted by Global Classrooms DC (GCDC), a Training Conference in the winter and a competitive conference in the spring. The fall conference will provide an opportunity for students new to Model UN to participate in a conference designed to teach rather than compete, and students who have previous Model UN experience will benefit from practicing current skills. The spring conference is held at the U.S. Department of State in Washington, D.C. Both conferences are all-day events and open to students in grades 5 – 12.
Rewarding OpportunÂities
In addition to the two conferences hosted by GCDC, our club seeks out additional conference opportunities hosted by neighboring middle schools, high schools, and universities. As these become available, we will share details with parents and students. Our advanced program hosted our very first conference in spring of 2025, and we look forward to hosting more to come.
Students may earn awards at conferences, and we proudly recognize our students’ achievements on our Awards page. Global Minds will provide administrative services to register and prepare students for all conference opportunities.
